Clicks Pharmacies
The first fully fledged Clicks Pharmacy was opened in Cape Town in
2004. Since then the number of Clicks Pharmacies increased rapidly –
we currently have over 190 Clicks stores with dispensaries nationally.
Our main focus is on delivering quality pharmaceutical care – and
to be seen as industry leaders in this regard. The Pharmacy
Operations team at Clicks continuously explores best practices to,
on the one hand, create a professional and streamlined environment
for our pharmacy professionals, and on the other, and equally
important, increase the levels of quality of patient care and our
customers’ experience.
Aspects being focused on include dispensary lay-out, standard
operating procedures, systems, facilities and the development of
the employees. The implementation of a centralised database to
enable customers to access their patient records and details of
prescription medication at any Clicks pharmacy countrywide is one
example. Fifteen new stores, all including dispensaries, will be
opened in 2008. Dispensaries are planned for a further 15 to 25
existing Clicks stores – depending on the availability of
pharmacists and licences. We are also embarking on a refurbishment
programme to establish the new Blueprint format at between 80 to
100 branches by the end of the 2008 financial year.
Clinic Services
Implementing
new pharmacy business models is one way of ensuring that Clicks is the
Pharmacy of choice. Clicks’s comprehensive in-store clinic service, provides
professional, convenient and affordable medical care with certified Nursing
Practitioners.
Clicks Pharmacy offers efficient and professional dispensing services
as well as trusted advice on health-related matters.
An integral part of this service is the in-store Clinic
Services, offering a wide range of professional health services, being
run by registered Nursing Practitioners.
Nursing Practitioners are responsible for planning and overseeing all
aspects of the Clicks clinic operation. They do not only perform
standard clinic services, but get exposure to all aspects related to
establishing and managing the unit in a professional and profitable
manner.
