Responsible Pharmacist

Responsible Pharmacists at Clicks are responsible for delivering two main outcomes, i.e. ensuring high standards of pharmaceutical care and dispensary services in accordance with Good Pharmacy Practice, and achieving the profit viability of the dispensary – contributing, in partnership with the front-shop Retail Manager, to achieving the performance objectives of the respective branch.

The Responsible Pharmacist is therefore responsible for the end-to-end management of the dispensary operations, including the day-to-day dispensary operations, financial performance, stock, adherence to all legal requirements and company standard operating procedures and business rules, management of the dispensary team, as well as the implementation of pharmacy projects – e.g. establishing a centralised patient database and medication therapy management (MTM).

The role further involves overseeing the clinic service operation and Healthcare Assistants, as well as establishing effective relations with front-shop retail teams.

The Responsible Pharmacist reports to the Good Pharmacy Practice Manager who is there to support and guide him/her towards meeting set performance objectives.
