Pharmacist Assistant Learner Post Basic/Qualified Post Basic

Pharmacist’s Assistants at Learner Post Basic level and Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist’s Assistants, according to the scope of practice prescribed by the SAPC, perform the same responsibilities related to the provision of pharmaceutical care and dispensary services.

The difference lies in the Pharmacist’s Assistant Learner Post Basic having to perform his/her responsibilities under supervision of a registered Pharmacist, whilst Qualified Post Basic level Pharmacist’s Assistants perform their responsibilities without the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

Both these positions report to the Responsible Pharmacists.
